According to several sources, we get exposed to anywhere from 1500 to 4000 marketing messages every day. That’s a ton of businesses competing for your hard-earned dollar. Which brings me to business names. I believe there are few decisions as important as coming up with a business name. It tells the world who you are, what you represent and how you want to be seen. As they say, you only have seven seconds to make a strong first impression. This couldn’t be more true as most businesses are forever stuck with their first name – for better or worse.
One place that gets it right is PIZZAZZ, a pizza stall that I passed by after a soccer match in Sembawang, Singapore. One word. Simple, catchy, memorable and relevant. Next time I’m in the neighbourhood, and craving for a hot slice, guess which name will pop up first.
